O2 wins iPhone battle

26/07/07 – The mobile network O2 has reportedly beaten its rivals to win the exclusive rights to sell the iPhone in the UK. They will have the phone ready for sale before Christmas according to reports.
O2 have refused to comment on the rumours and it was previously thought that Vodafone would win the exclusive rights to sell Apples latest gadget in the UK.

AT&T, which holds the exclusive rights for the US, sold over 500,000 iPhones in its first weekend of release.

When they go on sale the iPhone handset alone is expected to cost £300 with no details of tariff prices available at the moment.
