Bioshock continues to pick up awards

The underwater adventure game Bioshock has added to its impressive haul of awards by taking home the game of the year gong at the Spike TV awards. It came ahead of Halo 3, Mass Effect and The Orange Box to win at the ceremony in Las Vegas hosted by Samuel L. Jackson.
Bioshock also claimed the prizes for best Xbox 360 title and best score

The other big winners in the awards that were shown live on US cable channel Spike TV were Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Super Mario Galaxy.

The modern update of the hugely popular Call of Duty series won the best shooter and best military game awards.

The latest outing for Mario walked away with wins for best action game and best Wii game.

Some of the year's other big titles such as Halo 3, Mass Effect and The Orange Box were also rewarded at the event.

Netflix to bring Internet TV into the living room

The US DVD rental service Netflix is ready to release a wave of set-top boxes which will allow users to download programmes and movies over the internet to their home computer which can then be watched on a home television via the box. The move is an attempt to boost its appeal over its rivals namely Apple TV and the Vudu Box as well as other cable services.

Pandora forced to cut off British users

The Pandora net radio service will be cut off from its British users on 15 January. The popular company said it was being forced to cease streaming music to British users of the service due to an unresolved royalty case.
