User revolt causes Facebook to change adverts
A protest by more than 50,000 Facebook members has forced the social networking site to change the way a controversial ad system on the site works. They were upset that the Beacon system would tell friends and businesses what they looked at or bought.
Motion-sensitive laptops under development
01/05/07 – BT are working on a system that will allow the production of motion-sensitive laptops that can be controlled through movement. The system, called BT Balance, can make using computers easier for people with disabilities or the elderly who find using keyboards difficult.
29/01/07- YouTube to share profits with users
The video hosting website YouTube will soon be offering users a share of advertising profits. Chad Hurley, founder of YouTube, said that the scheme, which will use a mixture of short clips and adverts shown before the users' video, would "reward creativity".
