Second email account settings

Okay I have kept experimenting....

If I had to be pushed to a conclusion on this I would say that it looks like I cannot have two connections at the same time. If I have either the ian or the jean then I can download. It then looks like I cannot download/use if the other one is already connected. So currently I can see the email header but when I try and download it says "has not been fully downloaded from server". If I mark it for download nothing happens.

If I try and take a fully downloaded email and try and move it to a different folder it says "connection to server unavailable".

If I remove the ian IMAP account and replace it with a POP3 account then the jean IMAP starts working.

So is it that your server does not allow to IMAP links from the same PC, or ir it that my Outlook/PC doesn't like to links to the same server ??

I have already mentioned download all the emails from jean@fergs.net to your outlook via pop setting, once you have saved all the emails then remove jean@fergs.net outlook IMAP account and from server side via pulse web hosting control panel.

but the whole reason for movign to you was the ability to have IMAP files !!

I know how POP3 works, and I can see that it works.

The reason for having IMAP set up is that my wife uses two PCs, a work one and a home one. On both she wishes to use Outlook. If we use POP set up then only one of the PCs can have the emails on. If we use a working IMAP she would be able to use both PCs to view what is happening to her email.

My understanding was that this is the whole reason behind having IMAP.

If your set up doesn't allow IMAP to work the way I woudl have just stuck with a free POP account from Google.

There is an excellent explanation of IMAP at http://www.imap.org/about/whatisIMAP.html it doesn't seem to be the way yours works ?
