- Is there a problem with the e-mail system? I use Outlook and can receive incoming mail but I have not been able to send anything for the last two nights - error 0x800ccc79. Also, when I try to log on to the webmail I get the message 'ERROR: - connection dropped by IMAP server'. Can you advise me on this? Many thanks.

Hi
I'm still at work so I cannot check my Outlook settings yet but I am still unable to log onto webmail from here. When I enter my username and password I still get the 'ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server' message. I also get this on my home PC. What does this mean? Why am I getting this on two different PCs at different locations? Again, you advise is appreciated. - Posted on Thursday, 21st February 2008 at 1:07pm

- Update - I got it sorted myself. Checked the 0x800ccc79 error code on Microsoft forum and it mentioned ISPs and static IP addresses so I took a chance and rebooted my wireless router and everything is working again. Just like the Royal Navy tv advert - switch it off and on again! Doesn't cause as much damage as kicking it. Bye
