2 problems - counters and e-mail

Page 1 of 1

#1 by porterrob
I have tried to follow the instructions for adding a counter to my site, but despite trying to interpret the instructions in different ways, I never seem to succeed. Could you please try to explain them more clearly?

Also, whilst I thought that I had set up an e-mail address in addition to my postmaster address, I know of several people who have tried to e-mail me on both my postmaster address and my separate address, but no e-mails have arrived. Is there something else I need to do? (test messages from myself when in admin seem to arrive)

Thanks,

Rob

We have gone into your index.html page and changed the counter code to...

<IMG SRC="/cgi-bin/counter.pl?unique_id">

The counter is now showing, you may wish to format it, we just left it there to demonstrate how it works.

Regarding your email, there does not appear to be a problem, we have just setup and tested an email account on your hosting platform and everything worked fine. May we suggest you delete the one you have created (not the postmaster) and then recreate it. If you still encounter the problem please respond to us with the email address and password of the email account you are having problems with and we will further investigate.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. However, I have just visited the site, and the counter does not seem to be shown.

The counter is appearing on your homepage, towards the bottom of the page.
