I am trying to use the phpBB3 forum and have uploaded it onto the server using an ftp.

When I try to go to the install index.html I get the following message:

Internal Server Error: 500

There seems to be a server or script misconfiguration at : http://www.basic.me.uk/phpBB3/install/index.htm

Can you offer any help?

Thanks

The reason it wasn't working is because you had another .htaccess file within the phpBB3 directory. We have now renamed this for you to anotherhtaccess file so it will not be conflicting with Apache. Also the link is not...

http://www.basic.me.uk/phpBB3/install/index.htm

but...

http://www.basic.me.uk/phpBB3/install/index.php

Hope this helps.
