Last week I took out hosting package plus domain name with supanet. Went on to website builder and think i've done everything ok. went to make my site live and screen comes up saying that it has gone live. Problem is that when I type in my website address in address bar (http://www.dumfriesphysio.com), a screen comes up telling me that domain name is being held - call 0845....... to register. I phoned this on Friday past and very helpful administrator stated that the domain name is registered to me. I just cant seem to be able to get to grips. Can anyone think of where i'm going wrong.

You currently have two hosting packages with us, the trial one amiephysio.supanettrial.com and dumfriesphysio.com. Both of these have websites that are visible in web browsers and their content is both different.
The dumfriesphysio.co.uk is showing the holding page as it is just a domain on its own and is not associated with a hosting account. You can point the domain to either jamiephysio.supanettrial.com ordumfriesphysio.com.
You do this by changing the www A Record within the Domain Manager section of your control panel, and point it to the IP address of the hosting account you wish to point it at. You will also need to add dumfriesphysio.co.uk as an alias to whichever account you choose. This is done in the Site Manager, Alias Manager section.
Hope this helps, if you get stuck tell us which account you want to point it at and we can do the rest for you. - Posted on Monday, 3rd September 2007 at 12:47pm

- There a couple of ways you could identify it, there are websites that you can go to and type in the url and they will tell you the IP address or if you look in the domain manager of the account you wish to point top the the www A Record is the IP address or if you tell us which domain we can tell you the corresponding IP.

- I would like to point to dumfriesphysio.com. Can you do this for me please. Will this allow the site to be viewed by anyone as it still shows the holding page when I type http://www.dumfriesphysio.com in the address bar.

- This has now been done, the changes may take some time to take effect though.

- http://www.dumfriesphysio.com was live yesterday afternoon and evening. When typing address in today has gone back to holding page. What has happened?

Everything was working when we checked except for entering your .co.uk address without www. We have now included this as well. All permutations of your address should now be working fine. Please allow some time for the most recent change to propagate through.
