Template override!!!

#11 by madforgolf
I have removed the /webbuilder from each file on file manager and this has given me at least something for users to see live. If i add any more pages/ or edit -will your system override what i have done and replace all /webbuilder into files again.

Hopefully this can be sorted.

The web builder should no longer be inserting '/webbuilder/' into the URL on any page edits or new pages created.

I thought this would be solved by now and was biting my tongue. As my tongue is now numb time to again address the original question which started this thread.
EVERY TIME i edit change or add a page to my site YOUR LOGO always comes in behind my own. Now you said earlier that Web team had this sorted ---AY RIGHT.
How is it every time i press update page and finish website this happens.!! I would like the (img/mainimg) removed completely from the setup. I have to log back in to host pages and EDIT CSS style page EVERY time then refresh the web to see change.
Come on--- this is to long to be happening. PLEASE sort it out. 8) :?:

Really sorry you feel this way.
Firstly, the webbuilder is a system where you can choose a template, create pages and add / edit content.
If you then manaually change the website yourself, how is the webbuilder supposed to understand what you have changed?
Each time you make your site live, the webbuilder has to upload the template files, the pages and the content you have written.
If that doesn't make sense maybe this will:

What happens if you change the template you are using with webbuilder?
Should we not upload the images?
As this would make your site look completely wrong.

As it seems that what you are trying to do is edit the content of your pages without requiring to modify the template you have chosen, you can either log on to the ftpclient and edit the text of the page or use any existing appropriate software on your own computer (many are free to download).

Web development have said there was an issue with the make site live function which has now been resolved. Please can you go back to the Web Builder Homepage and choose the professional version and try again. [/color:2vkrvwlp]

Each time i edit the CSS sheet from your control panel i have to change (img/mainimg) to my own to remove your template from the background. When i press save -should this not be the default to my website? I have removed the (img/mainimg) from the CSS but each time i go back after to fix your template it reappears!! HOW.
The image is in place in gallery/bowler01 so is there anyway again to make this my default template

The Web Development team have informed me that the problem has now been fixed and they wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused. [/color:2vkrvwlp]
I have changed from img folder img/mainimg and replaced with my own so it should replace your template? I cant see why when these changes are made that when i update my site and make it live these changes are reverted back to your settings.

Can you post this reply.

Thanks for your reply. I think you may be getting confused between the
ftp and the web builder. These are 2 totally separate systems. The ftp
gives you direct access to your files and the web builder is used to
build a complete website, not just the content. Every time you put
things live using the web builder, the system (web builder) has to
upload everything each time just in case you have changed a word or
selected a different template.
Regarding the bits about the 'makelive' function being fixed, that issue
was nothing to do with the problem your getting.
